This is a sweet little quilt design that is workable in just about any theme. It finishes at 34-1/2-inches, which is great for a kidlet quilt. In other colors, it would be great for older kids, or even a large table topper. The basic design is the same as the Fall Fortnight Pumpkin Spice wall hanging, but the sizes are larger and is made with half square triangles rather than flying geese. I have had most of the week to piddle and sew, you’d think I would have been more productive. I have projects in progress, but the stand and stare time has been massive, LOL! Plus, an entire day and a half was spent wrestling with my new embroidery machine. After playing with it for a day, I was ready (or so I thought) to do a label for Quadrille. Ah, but the thread had other ideas.

read moreIt took several more sessions with the longarm, but I finally got the topper done. When we left off last week, I was just getting started quilting the half-circles in the squares. I marked a line on the ruler with tape to line up on the seam to get them uniform in size.

Overall, I think it looks OK, for my first attempt at small curves like this.

I got into a rhythm as it went along, and it became a bit less tedious. Eventually, I got to the last of the squares.

Next was the decision on the borders ...
